This Summer Season Sees the Best of Theatre in the Capital

With the lovely sunny months approaching you should happen upon a variety of plays at the amazing west end Theatreland. The most eagerly anticipated musical show to premiere is Sister Act, this musical production is directed by the hilarious Whoopi Goldberg. The show is based on the celebrated films and features a brand new cast and a whole host of new religious pop songs to sing along to. The theatre production has already opened to the journalists and had super feedback. The best reviews coming from The Sun and the Guardian, both who reviewed how good the show had been put together and how excellent the songs were. Another great show to start this Summer up in in the capital is another film adaptation, Priscilla, aka Priscilla Queen of the Desert. The musical production features Oz television soap star Jason Donavan as the leading star and sees Donavan dress up in the most elaborate costumes ever seen on the West End. The songs again are catchy and upbeat. Sister Act is a definite smash hit and a theatre production that is sure to capture the heart of Londoners and London tourists.

From time to time there are certain theatre productions that stand the test of time. One of the most popular theatre shows is Phantom of the Opera. This musical production draws in the crowds year after year and is one of the most popular musicals in London. The show has been running for over 20 years. The musical is based upon a French novel and was created by the celebrated play writer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The story is about a young lady who’s father dies all of a sudden and sends her an angel from heaven to look after her. The angel falls in love with the female and the situation turn ugly with the angel from heaven threatening the young girls childhood love interest.
